Technical Specialist - Boomi Flow
About our Team
The Boomi Global Technology Organization serves as the technical arm of Boomi sales, delivering innovative solutions and strategies to solve businesses' integration and data management challenges. Most positions are remote but may require travel to meetings and field marketing events (less than 25% travel).
The Boomi Presales team is purpose built to allow our team members to take on new challenges within or outside of the team. We have a 4 year average employee tenure with less than 2 years in career level. Our team is led by former Solutions Consultants who have a working history with every layer of sales leadership which creates a partnership rather than a hierarchy. What you'll achieve
Becoming a Boomi Subject Matter Expert requires a specialization into one or more specific components of the Boomi platform. Sales Engineering Subject Matter experts are utilized as a shared resource to the various parts of the Boomi organization. The typical engagement is through the Field Sales Engineers being brought into opportunities as a specialist resource when the requirements are beyond the typical Sales Engineer's ability.
Key Responsibilities
- Support field sales engineers with solution design and application implementation strategy for workflow related opportunities
- Provide subject matter leadership to regional sales specialists helping them design workflow solutions to their opportunities
- Design and develop internal initiatives, helping Boomi use the technologies we sell
- Guide the training team for all workflow enablement activities
- Provide feedback from the field to product management
Requirements
- HTML/CSS/JavaScript experience
- React.js & TypeScript knowledge
- Experience in designing and implementing complex integrated solutions
- C-Level presentation skills
- Self-starting technical curiosity
Desirable Requirements
- Database Knowledge
- Java programing experience
- Integration background with Boomi or comparable technologies
Accountabilities:
- Manages strategic technical evaluation/POC, exercising wide latitude to deliver solutions to meet customer's enterprise business needs within the area of workflow expertise.
- Provides Internal consulting / guidance around workflow functional business models across industries including Custom Demo engagements and focused presentations
- Provides input to other cross-functional departments pertaining to product requests and product enhancements as needed. Willing to interact with the product group as an advocate for the customer.
- Works with sales teams to help manage, support, and prioritize sales opportunities
- Coaches and enables Boomi Sales on how to deliver high-impact solution messaging
Responsibilities:
- Build relationships with enterprise prospects, delivering presentations and demonstrations to articulate features and differentiators of the Boomi components
- Conducts discovery, drives strategic conversations and manages the technical relationship with Boomi leadership and IT decision makers in highly complex and high value accounts and establishes trusted advisor status
- Qualifies the most complex sales opportunities in the terms of customer technical requirements, competition, decision making process and funding
- Clearly articulates the benefits of the Boomi Platform from C-level executives as well as the technical decision makers
- Coordinates with Boomi Professional Services and/or Partners for technical sales support.
- Supports post-sale introduction to Customer Success and transition to the Professional Services and/or Partners as needed.
- Maintains account and opportunity updates within our Customer Relationship Management system
- Supports field marketing activities including conferences, webinars, and Partner events. Periodically create whitepapers / blog entries / etc. within the area of expertise.

Essential Requirements:
- 5+ years' experience designing, implementing, or architecting technological solutions using cloud application integration products in an enterprise environment
- Hands on experience configuring, managing and architecting big data solutions
- Familiarity with Solution Based Selling
- Experience with one or more of the following: Cloud Architecture, Data Architecture, Cloud Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS), Enterprise Architecture, Automated Deployment, Cloud PaaS Application Development, BPM, metadata management, data governance, and Data Modeling
- Technical expertise with Big Data / Data Warehousing technologies and architectures such as Hadoop, Spark and Snowflake.
- Understanding of enterprise integration tools, middleware technologies, and application and data integration patterns
- Scripting skills with products such as python, bash, perl. etc
- Database skills including SQL, data modeling and databases (e.g.) MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree with focus in Computer Science, Management and Information Systems, or equivalent
