What You'll Get to Do:

The Tech Writer will document the Air, Space, and Cyberspace Constructive Environment - Information Operations Simulation (ACE-IOS) Suite of software by developing new, or updating and completing existing, documentation for the program, following DOD documentation standards. The Tech Writer may also document, in whole or in part, the architecture and Agile software development processes, results, and releases. Candidates must be familiar with DOD documentation standards such as Requirements Specifications, Users Manuals, Database Design Descriptions, System/Subsystem Design Documents, and other technical documentation requirements for this program.

More About the Role:

As a Tech Writer you will work closely developers on each team. You will work independently with only general supervision. The problems faced are difficult but typically not complex. You may influence others and technical staff through the documentation of facts, policies, and practices.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

Minimum ten (10) years of experience. Experienced with the Microsoft office suite, e.g., MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio.

Required familiarity with the following software development processes:

  • The Software Requirements development process
  • DODAF documentation standards
  • A general understanding of the software technologies used in the program to include:
    • Docker (or other OCI compliant alternative)
    • Java Spring
    • C++
    • Experience working with relational database systems
    • Experience developing REST APIs
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

Preferred Experience, Frameworks, and skills:

  • Experience working with Oracle relational database management system.
  • Experience with military Command Post Exercises (CPX) and/or Computer Aided Exercise (CAX) training.
  • Experience with the Linux operating system and computer application networking.
  • Experience with the Agile software development process.
  • Experience with software development tools and utilities such as:
    • Git (Gitlab, GitHub, Bitbucket, or command line Git)
    • Confluence (document development, storage, sharing)
    • Jira (requirements identification and tracking).
