This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Territory Director - Personal Lines based in the United States.

This leadership role is focused on driving growth, performance, and distribution strategy across a defined geographic territory within the personal insurance business. You will lead and develop a team responsible for managing key distribution partners, ensuring strong agency relationships, and delivering on revenue and profitability targets. The role combines strategic planning, data-driven decision-making, and hands-on sales leadership to strengthen market presence and optimize channel performance. You will play a central role in shaping partner engagement strategies, aligning internal stakeholders, and identifying new growth opportunities through market and competitor insights. This is a high-impact position requiring strong leadership capabilities, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence outcomes across a distributed sales organization. The environment is collaborative and performance-oriented, with a strong focus on customer value and operational excellence.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead and oversee territory performance to ensure achievement of business results across assigned distribution channels and geographic scope.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of Territory Managers, setting clear performance expectations and driving accountability.
  • Design and execute distribution strategies to strengthen relationships with key agency partners and optimize portfolio performance.
  • Leverage data and analytics to identify market trends, competitive dynamics, and growth opportunities within the territory.
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and cross-functional teams to align strategies and capitalize on business opportunities.
  • Drive adoption of sales tools, dashboards, and CRM platforms to improve efficiency and decision-making.
  • Lead partner engagement strategies, including contract performance, agency management, and profitability optimization.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on engagement, development, and continuous improvement.
  • Requirements:

    • 10+ years of experience in sales or sales management, ideally within property & casualty insurance or financial services.
    • Proven leadership experience managing teams and driving performance in a distributed or territory-based model.
    • Strong understanding of insurance distribution channels, agency management, and personal lines products.
    • Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable sales and growth strategies.
    • Demonstrated success in building relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders.
    • Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills at both operational and executive levels.
    • Experience using CRM and analytics tools (e.g., Salesforce, dashboards, reporting systems).
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, marketing, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
    • Strong leadership competencies including accountability, talent development, and strategic alignment.
    • Ability to travel frequently within the assigned territory.
    • Benefits:

      • Competitive salary range of $136,000 to $204,000 starting base, with potential for higher total compensation up to $242,000.
