This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Trading & Operations Manager – Client Role based in the United States.

The Trading & Operations Manager will play a critical role in supporting both investment execution and operational excellence within a growing alternative investment organization. This position combines trading responsibilities, portfolio operations, and process improvement initiatives to ensure seamless day-to-day investment activities. Working closely with senior leadership, you will help strengthen operational infrastructure while supporting client portfolios and investment strategies. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in an entrepreneurial environment. Accountabilities:

  • Execute and support daily trading activities across client portfolios, ensuring accurate and efficient investment operations.
  • Manage investment operations across multiple vehicles, including separately managed accounts (SMAs).
  • Oversee trade settlement processes, cash movements, account activity, and portfolio rebalancing activities.
  • Coordinate with custodians, brokers, counterparties, and external service providers to ensure smooth operational execution.
  • Support operational due diligence processes, investor reporting initiatives, and information requests.
  • Monitor operational controls, identify process improvements, and implement solutions that enhance scalability and efficiency.
  • Partner with senior leadership on strategic initiatives, workflow enhancements, and operational planning.
  • Maintain strong operational discipline while adapting to evolving business needs and priorities.
  • Support additional trading and operational responsibilities as the organization continues to expand.
  • Requirements:

    • 5+ years of experience in trading operations, investment operations, middle office, or a related role within asset management, hedge funds, family offices, or investment advisory environments.
    • Experience supporting institutional investment products and/or separately managed account platforms.
    • Strong understanding of trade lifecycle processes, investment operations, portfolio administration, and cash management.
    • Required experience with equity trading; familiarity with listed options is preferred.
    • Experience working with custodians, prime brokers, counterparties, and investment service providers.
    • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
    • Excellent communication and relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Familiarity with order management systems, portfolio management platforms, and operational technology tools is preferred.
    • Experience supporting hedge funds, investor reporting, or operational due diligence processes is a plus.
    • Interest in growing into a broader leadership role within an expanding investment organization.
