MedSurg/ER RN position at St Alexius Health Carrington Medical Center
Department: Med Surg/ER/Outpatient RN
NO CLINICAL INVOLVEMENT
Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Chest pain, abdominal pain, back pain, UTI, stroke, trauma, CHF, COPD, CKD, Diabetes
Trauma Level 5 STEMI Receiving through ER then transfer
Stroke Center Acute stroke ready hospital
Previous Travel Experience Preferred
RNs required to titrate drips: Yes
Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Diuretics, insulin
Charge Nurse on each shift: Yes, does not take an assignment
ED Physician &/or Mid-Levels staffed: Yes, generally 1 at a time
RNs required to read their own strips: Yes
Shift Details: Rotating days and nights 12hr shifts starting at 7, self-scheduling
Weekend Requirement: EOW
Holiday Requirement: Rotating Weekends, as needed
Floating Requirements: all nurses do ER, med/surg, Outpatients and some help with pre and post op on days of surgery
Scrub Color/Dress Code: any color
How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation: One week
Attributes that help make a nurse successful: flexibility, ability to adapt quickly, and compassion

Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.

All nurses do ER, med/surg, Outpatients and some help with pre and post op on days of surgery

Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
