This role sits at the intersection of digital safety, content integrity, and platform trust, supporting the review and moderation of sensitive online material to ensure compliance with established policies and guidelines. You will evaluate a wide range of content types, including text, images, videos, and URLs, to identify violations such as abuse, spam, fraud, and harmful or illegal activity. Working in a structured and guided environment, you will contribute to maintaining a safe and reliable digital ecosystem while continuously developing your understanding of moderation frameworks. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive and potentially distressing content. You will collaborate with internal teams to support escalation processes, improve tooling, and enhance moderation accuracy. This is an entry-to-mid level trust and safety position with exposure to high-impact digital risk prevention work in a fast-paced environment.

Accountabilities

This role is responsible for supporting content moderation operations and ensuring the enforcement of trust and safety policies across digital platforms.

  • Review and moderate user-generated content across text, images, video, audio, and URLs in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
  • Identify and assess potentially harmful, illegal, or non-compliant content such as spam, abuse, harassment, phishing, malware, and sensitive material.
  • Manage assigned moderation queues and prioritize tasks based on operational guidelines and escalation procedures.
  • Apply structured decision-making frameworks to determine appropriate actions for flagged content under supervision.
  • Support escalation handling by gathering relevant context and routing complex cases to senior team members or specialized teams.
  • Participate in calibration sessions to ensure alignment with evolving policies and moderation standards.
  • Contribute to process improvements by identifying issues and providing feedback on tools, workflows, and guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to strict privacy and data handling standards.
  • Requirements

This position requires strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work with sensitive content in a structured, policy-driven environment.

    • 2+ years of experience in roles involving privacy, discretion, or exposure to sensitive content (e.g., cybersecurity, digital safety, content moderation, legal support, or law enforcement).
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
    • Basic experience in a compliance, technical, or legal-adjacent domain such as cybersecurity, open-source environments, or legal assistance.
    • Familiarity with digital platforms, online safety concepts, or content moderation frameworks.
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate content against complex policy guidelines.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and escalation handling.
    • Ability to manage multiple queues and prioritize tasks in a structured, fast-paced environment.
    • Comfort working with potentially sensitive, graphic, or disturbing content on a regular basis.
    • Preferred: Experience with JavaScript, version control systems, or user/customer interaction environments.
    • Strong sense of responsibility, discretion, and commitment to maintaining platform integrity.
    • Benefits

      • Competitive hourly compensation ranging from USD $26.78 to $70.97 per hour, based on experience and location.
      • Eligibility for performance-based bonuses and additional rewards depending on role structure.
      • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance options (for eligible roles).
      • Paid time off and holiday benefits.
      • Remote-first work environment across the United States.
      • Learning and development opportunities within digital safety and technical domains.
      • Inclusive and diverse workplace culture focused on collaboration and growth.
