UX Research (Summer Internship) - Remote Role - Americas Timezones
Job Description
This is a fully remote role for the Eastern Timezone of the Americas. The internship will start in June and will be full-time for 12 weeks.Â
Description of Duties
UX Research Intern will be working on streamlining the ResearchOps processes. This is an on-going research operations support role. UX Research Intern will work alongside the designers, researcher and product managers to source, screen, schedule and govern respondents for interviews and usability studies.
The UX Research Intern can expect to finish their time at Grafana with at least one portfolio piece demonstrating usability testing skills and experience, as well as meaningful contributions on strategic and tactical / operational efforts.Â
Key Responsibilities
- Source, screen, and schedule UX research participantsÂ
- Maintain database of respondents according to ethical and legal guidelines
- Help designers, researchers and product managers to recruit right people for interviews and studies
- Screen and schedule calls and research sessions with respondents
- Work in Ethnio application to support respondent journey from filling in screener, scheduling the session to redeeming the incentives (if applicable) – previous experience with Ethnio app is not required for this role
- Most common research we recruit for are: in-depth interviews, usability sessions, card sorting studies, questionnaires
- Understand and represent the voice of users; inspire teams to put the user at the center of our decision makingÂ
- Contribute to the development, governance and use of our research repository, allowing the team to uncover usability issues, customer use patterns, and trends that emerge across studiesÂ
- Protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of research participants’ information as well as insights derived from them
Requirements
- You are comfortable working in a remote-first company; communication is key. For us, working together means being collaborative, friendly, kind, and respectful. We operate by consensus, you can contribute to a discussion but then commit to the team decision.
- You can easily and clearly communicate in English (both written and spoken)
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of human centered design
- Be a well-organized person, focused on details and motivated by repetitive processes.
- Knowledge of Research Operations practices and processes, experience implementing these concepts is nice to have but not required
- Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
