Job Description

Team: Legal

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Vice President, Compliance (Testing & Monitoring) in the United States.

This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping and executing the enterprise compliance testing and monitoring strategy within a regulated consumer financial services environment. It plays a critical role in ensuring strong second-line oversight of regulatory risk across lending products and services, while reinforcing a culture of accountability and compliance across the organization. The position leads the design of risk-based testing frameworks that evaluate control effectiveness across the full product lifecycle. It also drives modernization of compliance monitoring through automation, data-driven insights, and scalable testing methodologies. Working closely with senior leadership, the role translates complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable oversight strategies. It is a highly visible position that directly supports enterprise risk governance, regulatory readiness, and board-level reporting.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the enterprise Compliance Testing and Monitoring program, defining strategy, methodology, execution standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain multi-year and annual risk-based testing plans aligned with enterprise risk assessments, regulatory updates, and emerging risks.
  • Oversee end-to-end compliance testing across consumer lending products, ensuring adherence to federal and state regulatory requirements.
  • Design and implement scalable, technology-enabled testing solutions, including automated and semi-automated approaches to improve efficiency and coverage.
  • Provide second-line oversight and challenge of first-line monitoring activities, including evaluation of control design, execution quality, and escalation processes.
  • Translate risk assessments into audit-defensible testing strategies, including scope definition, testing depth, and frequency.
  • Deliver executive-level reporting on testing outcomes, risk trends, and remediation status to senior leadership and governance committees.
  • Partner with business leaders and the Chief Compliance Officer to strengthen compliance ownership and ensure timely remediation of identified issues.
  • Requirements:

    • 12+ years of progressive experience in Compliance, Risk Management, or Regulatory Oversight, including enterprise-level leadership responsibilities.
    • 7+ years of people management experience leading and scaling high-performing compliance or risk teams.
    • 5+ years of experience in consumer financial services with direct ownership of compliance testing, monitoring, or second-line assurance programs.
    • Strong expertise in designing risk-based testing frameworks and audit-defensible compliance methodologies.
    • Deep knowledge of U.S. consumer protection regulations (including UDAAP, Reg B, FCRA, FDCPA, TCPA, and privacy frameworks), including relevant state laws.
    • Experience implementing automated or technology-enabled compliance testing, dashboards, and reporting tools.
    • Proven ability to translate complex regulatory and risk concepts into actionable business insights and strategies.
    • Strong executive communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership and board-level stakeholders.
    • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or CRCM certification strongly preferred.
    • Benefits:

      • Competitive executive compensation package aligned with senior compliance leadership roles.
      • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
      • Opportunity to lead enterprise-wide compliance transformation in a growing national organization.
      • Strong emphasis on work-life balance within a supportive, values-driven culture.
      • Access to modern compliance tools, data systems, and automation initiatives.
      • Career development opportunities within a scaling financial services organization.
      • Inclusive, employee-focused environment with a strong culture of recognition and support.
