This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Vice President/Head of Finance based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to lead the finance function of a fast-growing, technology-driven business transforming the commercial construction industry.
You will serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership, shaping financial infrastructure, planning, and operational scalability.
The position combines financial leadership, project-based accounting expertise, M&A support, and systems innovation.
You will build processes that enable growth, improve visibility, and support a transition toward a more scalable platform model.
Working across multiple business areas, you will influence capital decisions, operational efficiency, and long-term business strategy.
This is a high-impact opportunity for a finance leader who thrives in entrepreneurial environments and enjoys building from the ground up.

Accountabilities:

The Vice President/Head of Finance will own the development and execution of financial strategy while building scalable systems, processes, and teams to support business growth. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage complex financial operations, provide strategic insights, and partner with executive stakeholders.

  • Lead the complete finance function, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, reporting, cash flow management, and financial operations across multiple revenue streams.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on capital allocation, business model evolution, growth initiatives, and financial implications of operational transformation.
  • Develop and maintain financial infrastructure supporting a transition from a managed services model toward a scalable technology-enabled platform.
  • Own budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and performance reporting processes to support business decision-making.
  • Oversee project-based accounting operations, including cost tracking, project profitability analysis, billing processes, revenue recognition, and financial controls.
  • Ensure accurate accounting practices across complex projects, multi-entity structures, and procurement-related financial workflows.
  • Establish strong internal controls to safeguard client funds and maintain compliance with accounting standards.
  • Lead financial due diligence for acquisitions, including quality of earnings analysis, valuation modeling, integration planning, and earnout structure evaluation.
  • Support M&A strategy through financial modeling, transaction analysis, risk assessment, and post-acquisition performance tracking.
  • Design reporting frameworks that provide visibility at both entity and consolidated levels for leadership and board-level decision-making.
  • Manage relationships with financial partners, auditors, advisors, and external service providers.
  • Build, mentor, and scale the finance team while implementing systems and automation solutions that improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation to streamline workflows, reduce manual processes, and enhance financial operations.
  • Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced finance leader with strong operational expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to build financial infrastructure in a high-growth environment. You should be comfortable balancing hands-on execution with executive-level decision support.

    • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including 3–5+ years in senior finance leadership positions.
    • Demonstrated expertise in project-based construction accounting, including draw management, project cost tracking, revenue recognition, and financial controls within construction, procurement, or similar environments.
    • Proven experience leading M&A activities, including financial due diligence, acquisition modeling, valuation analysis, integration planning, and earnout structures.
    • Experience working within venture-backed startups, technology companies, or rapidly scaling organizations with investor-grade reporting requirements.
    • Strong understanding of multi-entity financial structures, consolidation processes, and operational finance management.
    • Experience building finance functions, processes, and systems in environments where infrastructure is still evolving.
    • AI-native mindset with experience identifying automation opportunities, designing efficient workflows, and implementing technology-driven improvements.
    • Familiarity with hybrid business models combining services, marketplaces, and software/platform revenue streams is preferred.
    • Background in commercial real estate, construction technology, procurement, hospitality, or related industries is a plus.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business recommendations.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with executives, boards, investors, and cross-functional teams.
    • Comfortable operating independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with a builder mentality and a collaborative approach.
    • Benefits:

      • Competitive compensation package with a salary range of $221,000 – $252,000.
      • Equity ownership opportunities.
      • Fully remote work environment within the United States.
      • High-impact leadership role with direct access to executive leadership and strategic decision-making.
      • Opportunity to shape financial systems and processes during a significant growth phase.
      • Exposure to active M&A initiatives and company transformation efforts.
      • Ability to build and develop a finance organization from the ground up.
      • Opportunity to work in an innovative, AI-driven environment focused on operational scalability.
