ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Virtual Data Analyst at NYSHEX, you will help drive NYSHEX's operational workflows by capturing key data from our members. You will ensure the accuracy of our data and identify any issues, discrepancies, or unusual patterns that will enable us to better serve our members. You will be part of a collaborative, high-performing team that's driving change in the ocean shipping industry.
This is full-time role reporting to the Virtual Service Center Manager. This a remote, work-from-home role, with the expectation of periodic in-person team meetings. As such, we are only considering candidates who are based in the Western Cape region of South Africa.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will:
- Unleash your data capturing skills by inputting vital information into NYSHEX's operational workflows
- Be a detective and investigate data entries and process outputs to uncover any deficiencies, errors, or unusual patterns
- Join forces with the Team Manager to identify areas for improvement and streamline processes to reach maximum efficiency
- Be the hero clients need by providing top-notch support and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
- Be a team player and support the entire process while delivering exceptional client service
QUALIFICATIONS
You are a great fit for this role if you have:
- 2+ years of experience working in ocean containerized shipping
- The ability to deliver under pressure and adapt quickly to changes
- Very high attention to detail and a thorough approach to work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to work with others to achieve shared goals
- Good organizational skills to support the team
- High proficiency with MS Office (including intermediate Excel skills)
- Familiarity with data analysis
- The desire to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with team members and clients
