The Visual Designer is a key role, helping drive Florida Blue's transformation to becoming a customer-focused health solutions company, putting the customer at the center of strategic decisions and embedding customer experience best practices throughout the enterprise. The Visual Designer is responsible for bringing design ideas to life by developing creative and sophisticated visual representations of customer experience designs as part of the design thinking process. He/she will conduct research to gain insight on design trends across industries, and incorporate best practices into the development of customer-centric design solutions. Additionally, this role will help educate non-designers on how visual design solutions can meet business needs while improving the customer experience, by explaining how solutions will satisfy business requirements.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Focuses on ways to embed customer-centric visuals into prototype designs as part of Florida Blue's design thinking process
  • Constructs compelling artifacts (design components, design specs, wireframes, conceptual diagrams, task flows storyboards, etc.) outlining present conditions and proposed solutions to gain strategic alignment and encourage innovation within and across the organization. (20%)
  • Leverages graphic design expertise, brand identify, and consumer psychology by utilizing a variety of contrast, color, tone, and other elements to present designs in a clear, visually-appealing way
  • Understands business requirements and educates business partners on how visual designs can meet business needs while improving the customer experience
  • Monitors customer experience design trends and best practices across industries to implement appropriate practices at Florida Blue
  • Essential other duties
What You Must Have:
4+ years related work experience to include visual design work

Related Bachelor's degree or additional related equivalent work experience

Additional Required Qualifications
Demonstrated experience designing multichannel experiences and visual design across multiple business functions
Ability to assist in planning and/or conducting user research activities during the planning, strategy development, and early design of solutions
Ability to maintain the visual vision of programs and initiatives through data-driven design iterations
Must be a strong communicator and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects while adhering to critical project timelines
Proficient in design and prototyping software (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Axure, Keynote, After Effects etc.), web design principles and technologies

General Physical Demands
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.

Physical/Environmental Activities
Must be able to travel to multiple locations for work (i.e. travel to attend meetings, events, conferences). Occasionally
