Your impact

The Vice President (VP) of Enterprise Sales is an executive-level role that reports into the C-Suite. We see business development as our highest value-add function for 2023 and 2024.The VP of Enterprise Sales will own and develop our enterprise sales strategy, including the development of sales strategies and processes, and managing a sales team and sales operations. 

The ideal candidate will be an experienced b2b sales leader who has sold training, education or workforce development tools, with a proven track record for driving large ($1m+) enterprise mandates and leading a sales organization.

This is a high-autonomy role and we expect our sales leader to take ownership over the enormous white space of opportunity we have in front of us to define us as pioneering a new category.

The VP of Enterprise Sales will oversee a small team of sales professionals and will be given a budget to grow the team. However, we expect the VP to be not only a great people leader and strategic thinker, but also a resourceful hands-on professional comfortable working in a lean startup environment.

A day in the life

  • Aligns the sales organization’s objectives with firm business strategy through active participation in corporate strategic planning, sales strategy development, forecasting, sales resource planning, and budgeting.
  • Accountable for effective sales organization design, including sales job roles, sales channel design, and sales resource deployment.
  • Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume, market share, and other key financial performance objectives for the sales team.
  • Establishes and governs the sales organizations performance management system. This includes establishing guiding sales organizational principles for managing performance, engineering incentives, rebalancing underperformers, etc.
  • Develops, manages, and closes high-value enterprise sales opportunities as an individual contributor. Builds trusted relationships with target prospects and customers.
  • Interface with marketing team to build coherent marketing-to-sales processes
  • Lead and grow a team of world-class sales professionals

Your expertise

  • 12-15+ years of progressive experience in b2b sales and sales leadership, preferably selling solutions related to workforce development, digital advisory, or change management
  • Prior experience with consultative, high-ticket sales
  • Consistent overachievement of quota and revenue goals in past roles
  • Proven ability to drive transformational change across a scaling organization: understands the drivers of how to build a culture, assess performance, and build capacity across the sales organization
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving hyper-growth startup environment that requires dealing with ambiguity, solving problems, and thinking on your feet
  • Expert-level negotiation skills and experience closing complex sales contracts
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to interface with leadership team and staff effectively
  • Experience developing, managing, and leading teams, and working with cross-functional teams to achieve company objectives.

The compensation range for this position is specific to location and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. These factors include (but are not limited to) location, experience, education and skill sets. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $180,000 - 225,000. Please note that the shared range is specific to the United States. The range only reflects the base salary and does not reflect bonus, equity or benefits.
