Job Description

Team: Finance

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a VP, Global Controller in United States.

This senior finance leadership role sits at the center of a global transformation, overseeing the full accounting organization within a complex, PE-backed international business. As VP, Global Controller, you will own global financial close, reporting, technical accounting, and compliance while building a best-in-class accounting function designed for scale and accuracy. You will lead multi-region teams and ensure financial integrity across all business units, revenue streams, and jurisdictions. The role requires a strong blend of technical accounting expertise, operational discipline, and strategic leadership. You will also play a critical role in modernizing processes, improving systems, and driving efficiency across the close and reporting cycles. This is a high-impact opportunity for a controller ready to shape the future of a global finance organization.

Accountabilities:

  • Own the global financial close process across monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and disciplined close governance
  • Lead the preparation of executive, lender, and external reporting packages, including Non-GAAP financial reporting and compliance certificates
  • Oversee all technical accounting functions, including ASC 606 revenue recognition, deferred revenue management, and SSP analysis
  • Manage end-to-end reconciliation processes between GAAP revenue, billings, contract assets, and deferred revenue across multiple revenue models
  • Serve as the primary owner of audit relationships, including annual external audits and statutory audits across global regions
  • Lead and develop a distributed global accounting organization, including shared services and regional finance teams
  • Drive process transformation initiatives, including system optimization, automation, and elimination of manual accounting workflows
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements across all jurisdictions
  • Partner with FP&A, Tax, Revenue Operations, and executive leadership on financial strategy and complex transaction accounting
  • Act as a key escalation point for accounting issues while continuously improving financial data integrity and reporting reliability
  • Requirements:

    • 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Big 4 public accounting and prior controller or assistant controller roles
    • Proven experience in PE-backed environments with direct exposure to lender reporting, compliance certificates, and covenant-driven reporting requirements
    • Deep expertise in US GAAP, particularly ASC 606 revenue recognition across multi-product and multi-revenue model businesses
    • Strong experience with revenue systems such as RevPro and enterprise ERP systems like NetSuite
    • Demonstrated ability to rebuild or transform financial close processes, including improving controls, accuracy, and automation
    • Experience managing global accounting teams across multiple geographies, including statutory audits in international markets
    • Strong technical accounting research and communication skills, with ability to translate complex topics for non-finance stakeholders
    • Experience with SaaS, subscription, licensing, and services-based revenue models is highly preferred
    • CPA certification strongly preferred with a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
    • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a hands-on, transformation-oriented mindset
    • Benefits:

      • Competitive compensation ranging from $250,727 to $376,091 USD annually
      • Performance-based incentives and bonus potential
      • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
      • Retirement savings plan options
      • Generous paid time off and holiday benefits
      • Remote-first flexibility (#LI-Remote)
      • Opportunity to lead a global finance transformation initiative
      • Exposure to complex international operations and PE-backed financial structures.
