About the job:
Upside is hiring an experienced leader in Sales and Growth Markets to drive expansion into new sectors while establishing a dignified strategy and process for driving new business efforts. The VP will work to establish goals and quotas with our Sales and Revenue Operations team as we continue to grow Upside business efforts into new verticals and territories.
As the VP of Growth Markets, youāll join a team whose experience hails from places as varied as Google, Groupon, MasterCard (and many more) as well as successful start up executives and Venture Capitalists.
What you'll do:
- Lead sales efforts to develop and grow new business verticals as Upside extends its retail technology platform to serve new retail spaces and territories
- Partner with the CRO and executive leadership team to build a sales strategy for a rapidly scaling sales team (both new business and post-sale) to achieve revenue and growth targets, including implementing effective sales strategies, pipeline management, and opportunity management
- Establish and manage relationships with senior leadership and C-suite level executives across multiple industry verticals to successfully and consultatively sell into new markets
- Work directly with the Upside Sales, Product, and Marketing leadership teams to support the go-to-market strategy, merchant launches, roadmaps, and key partnerships
- Own and evolve the forecasting and revenue tracking in the Growth Markets space, communicating as needed to internal teams
What you need:
- 10+Ā years of sales experience with 3+ years in the retail space preferred; experience working with C-Suite executives on pricing, planning, finance, and marketing is a plus
- Established track record of success in building and scaling sales teams and processes from early stage to high growth, as well as achieving/exceeding sales quotas, CRM (Salesforce specifically) and pipeline management, sales org/structure, compensation plans, etc.
- Ability to travel 30% of the time
- Start-up experience preferred
- Bachelorās degree or higher
