You will be part of a high energy, goal-oriented team of professionals who believe in the power and joy of learning. The VP of Sales is responsible for the sales performance of multiple field sales districts as well as an Inside Sales team. You will accomplish this by providing strategic direction and support to these teams and holding their districts accountable for sales growth and goal achievement. They will work with their teams to build and develop high performing sales territories capable of exceeding sales targets with a strong focus on talent development, share growth, usage and retention.
What you'll do:
- Recruit, coach and lead team of District Managers, Strategic Account Managers and Sales Consultants, ensuring effective team collaboration and achievement of business outcomes.
- Set sales strategy, targets and develop action plans for working key accounts. These include identification of revenue/product potential, criteria of customized company and promotional pieces.
- Engage with customers and gain insight to develop go-to-market strategies and provide feedback for customer success, product and marketing
- Build a data-driven view of our pipeline, forecast results, market trends and opportunity. In concert with Business Intelligence, develop nation-wide business plans and revenue target using sales planning and analytics tools. Use software-based analytics tools to identify and prioritize target accounts.
- Monitor progress to territory plans and realign as the year progresses to drive success, maintain frequent communication with sales representatives to focus sales efforts on improving revenue.
- Conduct regular check-ins with District Managers for progress monitoring based on key account action plans.
- Drive an integrated and collaborative operating model between sales, product, marketing, and customer success. Apply appropriate resources to ensure all RFPS are prepped/submitted.
- Lead sales Learning & Development (L&D) strategy for development including the design and execution of quarterly/twice-annual L&D trainings for sales execution (e.g. tool use, soft skills, CRM best practices).
- Handle Territory-level expense budgets including sampling and overall cost center, supervise expenditures by team members and work with them to ensure budgetary compliance
- Develop strategy and lead pursuit of state-level Departments of Education
- Be a face of the company, speak at internal and external events, and engage customers
- Complete all required reports in a timely manner
Skills you will need here:
Required:
- BA or BS degree
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive sales experience with a consistent track record in sales, sales management and leadership
- Outstanding organization skills and strong attention to detail and diligent follow up is important.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, cross-functional teammates and other members of the executive team
- Superior time management skills and able to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities
- Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability. Forward looking problem solver who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions
- High energy motivator and effective communicator (people want to be around you).
- Strong business sense and excellent team-building skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Passionate learner who seeks feedback and consistently expands skills with a desire for continuous learning and improvement
- Track record of cross-team collaboration, bringing voice of the customer to shape product/solutions, marketing campaigns and customer success programs. Ability to lead through change.
- Able to travel up to 50-70% by both car and air
Preferred:
- Sales leadership experience in K12 educational technology or other K12 education sales, ideally selling subscription products
- Highly proficient in educational technology and successful implementations
- Experience in managing team managers (field regional managers, inside sales, sales operations, etc)

Base Pay Range
The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.
$155,300.00 - $248,500.00 USD
