VP of Solutions Engineering

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a VP of Solutions Engineering based in South Africa.

This role sits at the intersection of enterprise engineering, customer success, and strategic sales within a fast-scaling Web3 infrastructure company. You will be responsible for enabling financial institutions and large enterprises to successfully adopt a secure, API-first wallet infrastructure platform. Acting as a senior technical leader, you will guide complex integrations into legacy banking and fintech systems while ensuring security, scalability, and operational excellence. The role combines hands-on engineering, solution architecture, and high-level client advisory work with CTOs, architects, and technical stakeholders. You will also contribute directly to product feedback loops, helping shape platform evolution based on real-world enterprise needs. This is a high-impact leadership position in a globally distributed, security-focused organization operating at the forefront of digital asset infrastructure.

• Lead the technical onboarding of financial institutions and enterprise clients, ensuring secure and seamless integration with the wallet-as-a-service platform.
• Architect scalable and secure deployment strategies tailored to both legacy systems and modern cloud-native environments.
• Provide hands-on technical support, including troubleshooting complex issues and co-building solutions alongside client engineering teams.
• Partner with sales and product teams to design technical proposals, demos, and responses to enterprise RFPs.
• Translate customer feedback and market insights into actionable product improvements and technical enhancements.
• Maintain, improve, and standardize technical documentation, integration guides, and developer resources.
• Represent the organization as a technical leader in client meetings, industry events, and strategic discussions.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in solutions engineering, enterprise integration, or forward-deployed engineering roles, including leadership responsibilities.
• Strong programming experience in TypeScript or similar languages with deep expertise in REST APIs and distributed systems.
• Extensive experience with cloud-native architectures, particularly AWS, and familiarity with microservices and serverless environments.
• Proven track record of delivering complex, mission-critical integrations for financial institutions or enterprise clients.
• Strong understanding of enterprise security standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical depth and business strategy in client-facing environments.
• Experience with blockchain, digital assets, or fintech systems strongly preferred, along with strong documentation and presentation abilities.
