Job Description
At Wisetack, we’re building financially responsible consumer lending products that help service-based businesses thrive.
Wisetack is a well-funded ~130-person startup founded in 2018 by a team of experienced fintech veterans, with a leadership team that comes from PayPal, LinkedIn, Lending Club, Affirm, Amazon, and other top companies. We’re backed by leading VCs, including Insight Partners, Greylock, and Bain Capital Ventures, (investors in Airbnb, LinkedIn, Instagram, Dropbox, and many more).
We raised a $45M Series B last year and since then, we've invested in our people and technology and signed a slew of new partnerships. This is a fun stage in any company's lifecycle where we've got the core foundation built, a healthy growth rate, and a clear path to success, but you'd still be joining early enough to help shape the future of the company.
Most recently, we’ve been recognized as the Best Consumer Lending Solution by Finovate Awards. In addition, Business Insider called us one of the 70 most promising startups changing the world of finance, and LendIt selected us as this year's winner in the Best Emerging Lending Platform category for their Fintech Industry Awards. The external recognition is great, but we're equally — if not more — happy with the recognition from our customers. Our current NPS rating is a sky-high 78 (industry average hovers around the 40s or 50s, depending on who you ask). We're proud that we're building a product that customers love as well as being recognized as a Great Place to Work by our team members.
The RoleThe VP, People will oversee strategy for the single most significant driver of our ability to build a successful business: our people.
- Full ownership: You will own the entire People function, including talent acquisition, people operations, and organizational development. Build upon the existing framework to ensure we can scale to the next phase of growth.
- Strategic partner: You will be a key strategic partner to the leadership team, looking at the org with a people lens to ensure we are able to scale effectively.
- Culture definition: Together with the CEO, you will lead from the front on driving culture.
- Organizational design: You will have the pulse of the company, ensuring we have the right people in the right roles, growing their impact.
- Leadership development: You will make sure the executive team has the resources and skills they need to operate effectively.
- Team leadership: You’ll take ownership over a small but highly capable team, and will have the opportunity to grow this team over time, as appropriate for the stage of the company.
- Proven success in a scale-up environment: You’ve operated successfully at org sizes of 250-500 and know what it takes to get from here (~130) to there.
- Human Resource Management : A high-performing organization benefits from structure and performance-oriented programs, so a successful candidate will likely have substantial experience with developing programs for career pathing, compensation, and executive coaching.
- Culture builder: You foster an inclusive environment, willing and able to stand side-by-side with the rest of our leadership team to drive an amazing culture.
- Comfortable with a remote-first, global environment: You understand how a hybrid remote culture impacts people operations and can think out of the box to solve new categories of challenges as the nature of our workforce evolves.
- Hands on executor: While you’ll have a team to support you, all leaders at Wisetack share a willingness to take on their own workstreams alongside their team.
- Innovator: You take a “first principles” approach to designing programs and policies and solving challenges. You are highly analytical and willing to test new approaches vs do what others have done before.
- Process builder: You are a superb process thinker and documenter.
- Owner: You do not shy away from ownership and being responsible for results.
