This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a VP, Strategic Finance based in United States .

This position offers the opportunity to work directly with executive leadership across a portfolio of software businesses, providing financial insights that shape key strategic decisions. You will lead operating finance initiatives, support an active M&A pipeline, and develop sophisticated financial models that guide investment, capital allocation, and long-term planning. Ideal for a commercially minded finance leader, this role combines analytical depth, executive influence, and hands-on execution in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with broad visibility across multiple businesses

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the strategic finance function across a portfolio of software businesses, overseeing forecasting, financial planning, KPI reporting, and executive decision support.
  • Develop and maintain advanced operating models, including scenario planning, unit economics, cash flow forecasting, capital allocation, and performance analysis.
  • Partner closely with executive leadership teams to transform financial insights into actionable operational strategies that improve business performance.
  • Lead and support mergers and acquisitions by conducting financial modeling, due diligence, valuation analysis, synergy assessments, integration planning, and post-acquisition value creation initiatives.
  • Prepare board-level presentations, investor materials, and executive reporting that communicate financial performance and strategic recommendations.
  • Establish finance best practices, strengthen analytical capabilities, and mentor colleagues through high standards in financial modeling, reporting, and communication.
  • Evaluate strategic opportunities and provide recommendations that balance growth, profitability, operational efficiency, and long-term value creation.
  • Requirements

    • Approximately 3–10+ years of relevant experience in strategic finance, FP&A, corporate development, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, operating finance, or commercial accounting.
    • Strong financial modeling expertise with the ability to build and manage complex operating models from the ground up.
    • Experience supporting or leading mergers and acquisitions, including acquisition modeling, merger analysis, due diligence, and integration planning, is highly desirable.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze business performance, identify strategic opportunities, and influence executive decision-making.
    • Excellent understanding of SaaS or software business models, financial metrics, and value drivers is preferred.
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial concepts to senior stakeholders.
    • Highly analytical, proactive, and comfortable working independently in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments with significant ownership and accountability.
    • Strong collaboration, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage ambiguity and deliver practical, data-driven recommendations.
