Accountabilities:
- Execute and manage vulnerability scanning activities across internal, external, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Design, implement, and optimize enterprise vulnerability management architectures using Qualys VMDR and related technologies.
- Deploy and configure scanners, sensors, agents, and supporting infrastructure to ensure effective vulnerability coverage and visibility.
- Analyze discovered vulnerabilities, assess business impact, and clearly communicate risk levels and remediation priorities to customers.
- Advise organizations on vulnerability management strategies, operational improvements, and industry best practices.
- Develop custom compliance and audit checks aligned with frameworks such as CIS, NIST, and DISA.
- Collaborate with internal teams and peers to enhance vulnerability management services, methodologies, and technical capabilities.
- Support cloud-based security initiatives across platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Perform scripting and automation tasks using tools such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
- Establish strong customer relationships and serve as a trusted advisor throughout project engagements and ongoing security initiatives.
- 5+ years of experience in information security with at least 3 years focused specifically on vulnerability engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Qualys VMDR, including vulnerability scanning, compliance scanning, and infrastructure deployment.
- Proven expertise developing custom compliance and audit checks within Qualys environments.
- Experience using Qualys.io or Qualys Security Center in enterprise-scale environments.
- Solid understanding of compliance and security frameworks including CIS, NIST, and DISA standards.
- Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or other native scripting languages.
- Knowledge of Regex and data parsing techniques.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Understanding of Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems with strong command-line troubleshooting capabilities.
- Strong time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities with experience handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to customers and stakeholders.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, containers, CI/CD pipelines, or serverless technologies is considered a plus.
- Strong willingness to learn emerging technologies and contribute within a collaborative, high-growth cybersecurity environment.
