General/Minimal Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in z/TPF Database and TPFDF (DB)
  • Knowledge of z-Systems hardware and software
  • Ability to test a z/TPF system using a VPARS guest environment
  • Familiarity in working with hardware and software vendors, IBM, DELL and HDS and how to report problems and how to obtain and apply maintenance and fixes, etc.
  • A natural curiosity, willingness to learn new things, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • End to end ownership of software and hardware changes - development, test, implement
  • Willingness to be part of an OnCall rotation and work off hours
  • Support and design TPF Disaster recovery process and actual Drills
  • Experience with working in a group environment.
  • Experience with working in a project driven environment.
  • Ability to multi-task.

Specific Skills:

  • z/TPF mainframe DB programmer - General attributes.
    • Experience with TPF Traditional Database and TPFDF
    • Expert on Assembler and C++ programming languages
    • Ability to use non TPF development and testing tools such as zLinux, VPARS, IBM Toolkit, CP trace, MakeTPF
    • Strong ability to perform Dump Analysis and resolve dumps
    • Able to understand, incorporate and test IBM APARS into IBM vanilla and IBM modified software
    • Working with Hardware technologies supporting TPF, such as z15 CEC, PMAX8 DASD, IBM VTL, TOS console
    • Provide 24x7 on call support

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $109,200 - $163,800.
