VFX Modeling TD

The VFX Modeling Technical Director (TD) is responsible for creating character, prop, and set models that support the artistic goals and story concepts of the production. They create and maintain 3D models, work with the Lead Modeler, and develop model tools. They also build procedural systems for complex modular models and help develop workflows, tools, and models for hair and cloth. The TD works with scan data, adjusts UVs and topology, and collaborates with layout artists and VFX artists. They ensure all deliverables meet the needs of all receiving departments and meet deadlines. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of Feature Film or relevant industry experience, proficiency in Maya, and knowledge of scripting in Python, MEL, or HScript. They should be familiar with polygonal, Nurbs, and subdivision surface types, and have experience with Zbrush, 3D printers, and mechanical engineering. Additional skills include experience with SpeedTree, Marvelous Designer, Houdini, Unreal, MOTO, Mudbox, Photoshop, Inventor, TogoGun, and Universal Scene Description (USD) APIs.
