<p><span>Hermeus is an aerospace and defense technology company founded to radically accelerate air travel by delivering hypersonic aircraft The company aims to develop hypersonic aircraft quickly and costeffectively by integrating hardwarerich iterative development with modern computing and autonomy This approach has been validated through design build and test of the companys first combined turbojetramjet engine and is now being scaled through its first flight vehicle program Quarterhorse Hermeus is also developing Darkhorse an uncrewed hypersonic aircraft designed to deliver unique asymmetric capabilities to the warfighter <span><p> <p><br ><p> <p>The Manufacturing Team at Hermeus are the boots on the ground We have a vast array of experiences ranging from welding additive tube bending machining integration and avionics We are a lean team who are responsible for building a vehicle that will fly We provide crucial design feedback to our engineering team and can rapidly iterate on design and assembly<p> <p><b>The Opportunity and How Youll Impact Hermeus<b> <p><ul><li>You are expected to have a comprehensive understanding of all CNC machining and programming operations<li> <li>This role is tasked with working in close concert with machinists leads engineering teams and machining operations management to increase productivity and optimize machining programs and procedures<li> <li>You will use MasterCam and NX to program CNC parts as well as use Vericut NC files to maintain revision control on programs and setup sheets you are knowledgeable of carbide tools and adjusting speed and feed parameters for maximum tool life<li> <li>You will make or offer suggestions on drawing changes to improve manufacturability<li> <li>You will machine your own fixture tooling<li> <li>You will consistently meet expectations for productivity and production goals while constantly keeping products moving and alerting management when production is inhibited<li> <li>You will provide consistent ideas for process improvements<li> <li>You will set up and operate multiaxis CNC machines mills and lathes up to and including 5axis mills and 6axis lathes<li> <li>You are comfortable with all types of drilling tapping and milling and turning and are able to complete machining operations from blueprints drawings andor verbal instructions<li> <li>You are comfortable working with complex tight tolerance parts and various materials<li> <ul><p><b>About You<b> <p><ul><li>Must be able to work 2nd Shift approx 3pm to 11pm<li> <li>High school diploma associate degree or equivalent certificate<li> <li>5+ years of experience in set up operation andor programming of CNC mill or lathe machines<li> <li>Experience programming in Mastercam or equivalent<li> <li>Strong knowledge of GDampT and tolerance stack ups<li> <li>Strong communication skills and ability to read and provide feedback on technical documents<li> <li>Ability to train operators how to setup and run machines<li> <li>Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed<li> <li>Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted<li> <li>Ability to stand for extended periods 8 hours min<li> <li>Ability to stoop bend crawl and being able to maneuver in tight spaces<li> <li>Repetitive movement bending or twisting using hands to handle control or feel objects tools or controls exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting<li> <ul><p><b>Desired Multipliers<b> <p><ul><li>Experience in a startup development environment<li> <li>Experience working in a flight development program<li> <li>Experience working with Inconel and Titanium<li> <li>Experience machining 3D printed parts castings or forgings<li> <li>Experience transitioning parts from first article to production<li> <ul><p> <p><p><span>LIOnsite<span><p> <p><br ><p> <p><i>We encourage you to apply even if you have skillsets and experience outside of our current needs as were always open to connect and discuss future opportunities<i><p> <p><br ><p> <p><p>
