Summary This position is located at Whitetail Ridge Ski Area, Fort McCoy, WI, and is one of only three ski hills operated by the Army. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. This announcement will have a first cutoff of October 14, 2025, and applicants that submit a complete application packet prior to that date and found eligible may be given first consideration. Duties Responsible for answering phones, waiting on customers, fitting customer with skis and/or snowboards. Assists and monitors the customers on the ski or tubing lift for safety, to ensure correct approach and usage of equipment. Assists with providing various services to customers, to include assist operations of snack bar and cleanup to ensure presentation of chalet is in good order. Collects fees, issues, receives, sells or rents merchandise, sports equipment or tools, (such as skis, boots, poles and sleds), and provides facility and program information to patrons. Receives returned items, inspecting for obvious damage and missing parts and maintains recreation area, tools and equipment. May operate snowmobile for transportation. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of employment Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. A one-year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. Must be 18 years of age by date of appointment to meet state law requirements. Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors. Schedule will be based on needs of the activity. Nights weekends and holidays are required. Driver’s license will be required if operating government vehicles. Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less). In accordance with the Fort McCoy Collective Bargaining Unit Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay are not authorized Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
