SUMMARY OF DUTIES

This position creates, develops and monitors moderately complex procurement financial models to guide business partners to make better business decisions. Models can include product cost estimates, cost/benefit analysis, business case analysis, analysis of alternatives, etc. Additionally, this role will assist in overseeing the team's financial data, and implementing improved processes surrounding data acquisition.

We are looking for experience manipulating data and creating visualizations using tools such as Domo, Tableau, Power BI or other similar products with basic knowledge of SQL, SAS, R, Python or other data manipulation languages.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED

  1. Responsible for Merit's global procurement reporting through cost management and transparency.
  2. Ensures procurement compliance and adherence to internal policies.
  3. Consolidates all procurement initiatives and tracks progress against target by updating the savings forecast.
  4. Provides analyses and prepares reports for management to serve as decision base.
  5. Assists with the budgeting process and annual target setting goals.
  6. Ensures adherence to savings methodology and correct calculation of savings.
  7. Checks and approves savings finalization reports.
  8. Tracks savings realization and measures avoidance of value leakage by cross-checking POs and triggering budget reductions for functional departments.
  9. Drives optimization and enhances efficiency of the controlling process in alignment with key stakeholders such as Finance.
  10. Analyzes and continually optimizes Merit's procurement processes, tools and KPIs to enhance performance. Establishes, monitors, updates, and benchmarks metrics, and derives and proposes measures for improvement.
  11. Performs a variety of other tasks, as required.

SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance andfour years of experience in areas such as reporting, consolidation and financial analysis.
  • A broad knowledge of accounting and financial control principles and their business applications.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail in performing accounting tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence at a variety of levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, human relations, collaborations, and communication skills -- verbal and written.
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to prepare professional written and oral presentations regarding financial analysis.
  • Ability to manage large and high priority projects efficiently and effectively and to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Hyperion Oracle
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • MBA
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills
