We are seeking skilled Cabinet Makers/Finish Carpenters with at least 7 years of experience in woodworking or related fields. No prior experience in set construction or event fabrication is required, as we will provide comprehensive training to adapt your cabinet-making skills to our specialized projects. This is a part-time, contract-based position with contracts ranging from 1 day to multiple months.
Responsibilities
• Construct and assemble high-quality cabinetry, furniture, and custom woodwork for sets, experiential builds, trade shows, and theme park elements, with training provided to meet project specifications.
• Interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to fabricate components accurately, with guidance to adapt cabinet-making skills to scenic work.
• Build cabinetry, fixtures, set flats, and other custom wood elements, leveraging your woodworking expertise.
• Prepare components for finishing, including sanding and prepping for the paint department, using techniques familiar to cabinet makers.
• Utilize tools such as table saws, routers, sanders, planers, and hand tools safely and efficiently, with an emphasis on precision woodworking.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless execution of projects, adapting cabinet-making techniques to larger-scale builds.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace to enhance productivity and safety.
• Bring a personal set of tools, including drills, hand tools, and other woodworking equipment commonly used in cabinet making.
Qualifications
• Woodworking Expertise: Proficiency in cabinet-making and finish carpentry techniques, including precision cutting, joining, sanding, and finishing. Ability to work with wood, plywood, MDF, laminates, and veneers.
• Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers) and power tools (table saws, routers, sanders, drills). Familiarity with pneumatic tools.
• Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or CAD designs, with training to apply these skills to scenic and event fabrication.
• Finishing Skills: Experience applying stains, paints, lacquers, or veneers to achieve polished, client-facing finishes, adaptable to themed or experiential builds.
• Installation Knowledge: Basic understanding of assembling and installing cabinetry or furniture, with training provided for rigging or temporary structure installation if needed.
• Industry Experience: Experience in a cabinet shop, furniture-making workshop, or similar woodworking environment is preferred.
• Tool Requirements:Candidatesmust have their own kit: Impact gun, Drill, Sander, 18 ga - 23ga Nail Gun, Chisels and other related hand tools.

• $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected Hours
• 8 - 60 hours per week
Schedule
• 8-hour, 10-hour, or 12-hour shifts
• Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends or overnight shifts as needed
