Jamaica Hospital Medical Center has full opportunities for NURSE EDUCATOR/ EDUCATION SPECIALIST: MED/SURG FullTime: 4 days a week/ 10 hr shift Department: Professional Development & Organizational Learning Jamaica Hospital Medical Centera member of the Medisys Health Network is a 424 bed fully accredited community based teaching hospital and level I Trauma and Stroke Center . We provide general medical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergency services, ambulatory care on and off campus, ambulatory surgery and a broad spectrum of diagnostic and treatment services. We are currently seeking _Nurse Educators / Education Specialist_for our Professional Development & Organizational Learning Department. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provision of educational and development training services to enhance specialized patient care within established clinical protocols. • Collaboration with patient care staff and unit management in the planning, implementation, and delivery of educational curricula. • Initiation of clinical skills development programs within the parameters of established clinical and preceptorship models • Implementation of educational strategies to ensure compliance with quality standards and parameters. • Serve as a clinical resource for unit management and team members to ensure quality patient care. • Educate team members in the use of new equipment, supplies, and instruments; coordinates in-service training and workshops. REQUIREMENT • Current NYS license as a Registered Professional Nurse • Current BLS / ACLS certification. • Master’sDegreein Nursing, Nursing Administration, or Informatics • 5 YEARS NURSING CLINICAL EXPERIENCE IN ONE OF THE FOLLOWING SPECILAITY: Psychiatry, Med/surg and or ED. • Minimum 1-2 years prior experience as Nurse Educator or Education Specialist • Certification in area of specialty preferred • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and EMR, EPIC desired. • Excellent classroom presentation/platform, communications and interpersonal skills We offer excellent total compensation package, including competitive salary, excellent benefit package, growth opportunities and the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of health professionals.
