Tiegerman Schoolis a special education program servicing children with autism spectrum disorders from preschool through high school. At Tiegerman, our mission is to identify children with language and autism spectrum disorders early to provide educational programs which will prepare them for a world filled with words, sentences, stories and messages. Tiegerman High School is looking for a School Nurse to join our team!
Schedule:
β’ Days: Monday to Friday
β’ Hours: 8 AM to 4 PM
Salary Range:from $65,000 (annually)
Requirements:
β’ Valid RN License
β’ Experience in school settingpreferred
Job Description:
The School Nurse is a Registered Nurse that identifies and treats health disorders among students and helps to provide assistance with the maintenance of good health and disease prevention. The Nurse services as an advocate, liaison, and consultant on health related issues for students, families, and school personnel. They are a vital part of the school program in supporting an optimum physical, mental, emotional, and social climate for students and staff. School Nurse is an exempt position. The School Nurse reports to the Building Principal and Director.
Responsibilities
β’ Protect and maintains studentsβ health by providing professional nursing services
β’ Identify and assess student health needs
β’ Act as a liaison between home and school, and community providers for medical issues
β’ Promote an environment that is positive and student-centered
β’ Maintain the security of school health supplies
β’ Provide first aid and medically prescribed services
β’ Keep in contact with parents on the health needs of students
β’ Recommend corrective actions when problems are identified
β’ Exercise good judgment when planning solutions for students medical needs
β’ Maintain student health records
β’ Create/maintain policy and procedure for Nursing Office
β’ Train staff on health and safety procedures
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
