Database Security Engineer

Job Overview:
The CTI Data Services deliver data technologies for consumption by businesses within Citi. The Oracle DBA Security SME will provide leadership in the design and delivery of Oracle database solutions and setting Oracle Security strategies globally across Citi. This role will collaborate with the Security Engineering Team and DBA teams to ensure that critical applications using Oracle have a secure, resilient deployment configuration that can scale and meet performance requirements as needed. This role will also define automated process to consistently build, patch and upgrade Oracle databases Security across the entire estate. A senior Subject Matter Expert is needed to solve complex challenges such as very large database backup/recovery, GDPR, Appendix J compliance and data encryption strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a technology subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders and provide direction for all firm mandated controls and compliance initiatives, all projects within the group and in creating a technology domain roadmap
• Define a holistic architecture for the deployment of Oracle Security products
• Define technology strategies and standards on product selection and product exit
• Review and manage SDLC process controls for all Oracle automation projects
• Liaise with Operational DBA teams to ensure that engineered and automated solutions are tested by operations and sufficiently trained for providing L3/L2 support.
• Develop and/or coordinate tools and process integration for Oracle products
• Ensure that all integration of functions meet business goals
• Define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process enhancements
• Identify problem causality, business impact and root causes
• Exhibit knowledge of how own specialty area contributes to the business and apply knowledge of competitors, products and services
• Collaborate with private Oracle cloud team to introduce new Oracle features and capabilities
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Knowledge/Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in following areas:
• Architectural design of applications to leverage Oracle products for appropriate use cases
• Experience working with Oracle database products and Oracle Security Features from installation to testing and development
• Project and Document Management experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting to identify best practices
• Demonstrated analytic/diagnostic skills
• Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative
• Familiarization with information Security Concepts and Products
• Follow the Technology Development Life Cycle in the Development of all Security Tools
• Focus on providing Customer Solutions rather than just Product Certification

Mandatory Skills:

• Around 7+ years of experience in following skills:
• Oracle Database Security, Database tokenization, redaction and Encryption.
• Working knowledge of Oracle database products and advanced features - Oracle RAC, Multi-Tenant setup, ASM, Partitioning, Dataguard, Goldengate, OEM, Oracle TDE, Key Management using OKV and HSM, Oracle Wallet
• Experience in developing reference architectures, coordinating deployments of Oracle features
• Experience in working on Unix/Linux operating system

Desirable Skills:

• Other RDBMS such as MS SQL, Mongo, PostgreSQL is also preferred.
• Knowledge of agile SCRUM practices, JIRA Competencies
• Possesses good verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates self-motivation and problem-solving skills
• Capable and willing to work independently as well as in cross-functional and cross-location teams
• Ability to provide presentations to Management and large audiences
• Capable of defining cost models and optimizing technology spend and licensing

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience
