DevOps Automation Engineer (Hybrid - Flexible Options)

Broadridge Enterprise Automation and Monitoring team is looking to hire a DevOps Automation Engineer. The team is responsible for enterprise infrastructure, application, and network monitoring, as well as automation with the mindset of automate everything. The selected candidate will be joining a team of highly skilled engineers with a broad background in Observability and automation.

The DevOps Automation Engineer is a technical Subject Matter Expert that proactively drives the technical stability and performance of our tools. You will combine your software and systems engineering skills to design solutions that automate fault detection, repetitive tasks, problem resolution without customer impact or human intervention. These solutions typically involve software development for metrics and event collection/correlation across distributed architectures, automation, monitoring, intelligent alerting, random fault injection, and self-healing.

Responsibilities:

• Work on designing and developing Automation platform for Broadridge Products and Infrastructure services.
• Design and develop best practices for resiliency and availability of applications.
• Build automation scripts (bash/shell, Python, Perl).
• Proven experience as a developer or similar role with focus on building tools and framework for the development community. Knowledge of Containerized environments is an advantage.
• Experience with Observability tools will be an added advantage
• Knowledge of AWS as well as other cloud providers is a huge advantage.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Organizational skills and analytical mindset with attention to details.

Requirements and what it will take to succeed in this role:

• BS/MS in CS/Math or Engineering with at least 5 years of work experience.
• Strong knowledge writing scripts in Python and Shell/Bash.
• Very good experience with Linux/Unix OS.
• Java scripting and/or powershell knowledge will be an added bonus.
• Good to have any DevOps/Cloud related certification.
• GoodKnowledge of DevOps toolsets like Terraform/Jenkins/Chef/Ansible.
• Should have some experience with AWS
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with disciplines of enterprise software development such as configuration & release management, source code & version controls. Experience in IT monitoring would be a big plus.
