WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Drive Gross Margin Improvement (GMI) program throughout the Core Diagnostics Commercial organization through the ideation, validation, and execution of direct and indirect cost reduction initiatives
- Responsible for management and execution of multiple large-scale initiatives or a group of related projects that are organized into a program
- Demonstrate stewardship and provide leadership to meet Division strategies and business objectives
- Incorporate best practices in program management to meet and or exceed division's goals and/or long range plans
- Identify process issues and recommend improvements to senior leaders
- Recommend and implement PM strategies and enhancements to improve efficiency
- Act as primary point of contact for program reporting & updates
- Perform project/portfolio management and analyses
- Assist in idea capture and cataloging activities of new ideas
- Deliver annual Gross Margin Improvement financial targets for Core Diagnostics
- Translate general business goals and objectives into concrete strategic and tactical plans
- Ensure program scope and success criteria are clearly established; develop and manage overall program plans to meet deliverables
- Oversee execution and delivery of all projects and programs within span of program control
- Initiate, lead and communicate project/ program assessments and lessons learned
- Establish clear priorities to ensure team is working within project/program scope and effectively coordinate the activities of the team to meet project milestones
- Proactively identify changes in project/program scope and assure appropriate measures are taken to reassess and amend requirements, budget and timeline
- Participate in the development and implementation of innovation plans
- Work with senior management to establish project scope recommendations and timing
- Ensure alignment with key planning processes, such as business planning, brand planning, customer planning, S&OP and corporate project reporting
- Provide support in designing, compiling and reporting project reporting requirements
- Create and deliver project and program review presentations
- Manage resources and timing for current and future stages
- Manage cross-functional timelines and follow-up with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks
- Negotiate resources and program timelines with senior leadership
- Proactively identify, monitor and manage program opportunities/ issues/ risks
- Provide training/coaching to meet organizational needs
- Resolve project team conflicts
- Accurately evaluate complex situations and identify solutions that create successful outcomes
- Work directly with functional area managers to resolve issues that impact completion of project objectives: determine when to escalate issues to appropriate levels of management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Required
- Bachelors' Related field an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Minimum 3 years experience in project leadership roles
- Extensive knowledge of and competency in project management methodology and processes, including planning tasks and allocating resources, risk management, working in teams, issues management, monitoring and reporting, and documentation
- Strategic, conceptual analytical thinking and decision making skills
- Critical thinking/problem-solving skills
- Negotiation skills
- Ability to plan and facilitate meetings
- Demonstrated expertise in leading a wide-range of teams, including individuals without direct reporting relationships, as well as remote locations
- Ability to negotiate consensus among diverse groups and influence the activities of others not in own reporting structure
- Strong written and presentation skills; ability to communicate effectively with senior management
- Technical background sufficient to understand issues involved with the project
- Understanding of the strategic and operational context of the projects
- Demonstrated ability in managing expectations on program requirements and deliverables
- Personal integrity and courage to escalate issues about the project and to advocate for responsible solutions to management
- Adaptability and flexibility including the ability to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity and change
