Position Overview:As a Heavy Civil Project Manager at Markham Contracting Co., Inc., you will be responsible for the overall management, coordination, and successful execution of heavy civil construction projects. Your leadership and expertise will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Project Management:
• Lead all phases of heavy civil construction projects, from pre-construction planning to project closeout.
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
• Client Relations:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Foster positive relationships with clients through effective communication and problem-solving.
• Manage client expectations and provide regular project updates.
• Team Leadership:
• Direct and motivate project teams, including engineers, superintendents, and support staff.
• Provide clear direction, mentorship, and support to ensure project success.
• Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
• Risk Management:
• Identify potential risks and challenges and develop strategies to mitigate and manage them.
• Implement effective change management processes as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and promote a culture of safety on-site.
• Quality Control:
• Oversee and enforce quality control measures to ensure work meets or exceeds industry standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and coordinate testing to verify compliance with project specifications.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years experience successfully managing heavy civil construction from wet and dry utilities, grading, paving, residential development, and commercial or industrial projects.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects from conception to completion.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with construction management software and tools.
