International Controller

Carta is looking for an International Controller to join our Accounting and Finance Team. The International Controller will be reporting to the Corporate Controller based in the US, and will lead a team located in multiple countries. This individual will be a key member of the Accounting team as they will help drive process improvements and manage the accounting cycles in our international subsidiaries. 

The Problems You’ll Solve:

• Manage the monthly close process of our foreign subsidiaries, which includes recording and reviewing journal entries, preparing and reviewing reconciliations, and providing flux explanations to management.  
• Manage 3rd party accounting vendors as well as manage relationships with customers and vendors for the company.
• Manage and help build out accounting functions in all foreign subsidiaries.
• Manage Cash functions including timely reconciliations and funding for international entities.
• Point of contact for statutory filings and audits as well as support for parent companies annual financial audit.
• Support transfer pricing calculations and review intercompany entries.
• Develop and implement new accounting procedures as needed.
• Assist with accounting integrations which include software and service vendors.

About You:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting
• Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of IFRS and GAAP
• 5+ years of accounting experience: Big 4 experience and CPA is a plus
• Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and on a team
• The ideal candidate will have experience managing and leading groups within accounting
• Experience in the EU, UK, India, Australia, Canada or Brazil is a plus
• Ability to identify areas for process or system improvements
• Experience with Oracle's NetSuite general ledger software
• Ability to work independently and maintain open communication with coworkers, especially for team members that are remote
