This position serves as the first point of contact for internal customers' requesting analytics support. Intakes and scopes requests coming in through the ticketing system and other sources. Interprets analytics questions and directs the users towards solution utilizing the full range of analytical assets and tools. Facilitates communication with customers on report and data requests. Gathers any additional data requirements prior to assignment to development resources. Provides support and education to users utilizing available self-service reporting tools and identifies opportunities to increase usage of these tools within the organization.

Education
Required - High School diploma or equivalent.
Preferred - Additional degrees and/or certifications may be combined to meet minimum qualifications.

Work Experience
Required - 3 years of experience in Epic, IT, healthcare, education, business intelligence or related field.
Preferred - Business training experience and/or certifications may be combined to meet minimum qualifications.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
  • Familiarity with reporting best practices and business intelligence processes.
  • Ability to understand and interpret data questions and requests.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Job Duties
  • Monitors the IS Data and Analytics report and data request queues via Ochsner Health's ticketing system and directs users to existing tools, if any.
  • Completes simple requests that do not require development.
  • Communicates with customers on requests that require more detail prior to assigning to development resources.
  • Works with customers to identify opportunities and provide education to use Ochsner Health's self-service reporting tools.
  • Acts as the IS Data & Analytics liaison for any projects that require participation from the analytics development teams.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
