Tecovas is the first direct-to-consumer western brand, founded with the simple goal of making the world’s best western boots, apparel and leather goods - and selling them at a fair price. We are a brand revolutionizing a category and welcoming first-time boot buyers and western enthusiasts alike.
Tecovas is looking for an experienced Manager of Quality, Compliance, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance) to strengthen and operate our supplier quality management program as we expand our international sourcing footprint. Reporting directly to the Director of Sourcing with whom you will work with on a day-to-day basis, but duties will span cross-functionally, and certain projects will support other functional leaders. The Manager of Quality, Compliance and ESG will be required to travel to Mexico and other sourcing locations on a regular basis in order to collaborate with factories, agents, and more.
This role will ideally based out of the Austin, TX or Dallas-Forth Worth, TX areas but have the ability to work from home or in-office.
What you’ll do:
Supplier Management

- Work with our Product and Commercialization teams to maintain and adjust standards as our needs evolve and/or we move into new categories.
- Drive continuous quality improvement with supplier base by developing a quarterly supply relationship management scorecard, with a combination of qualitative and quantitative KPI’s.
- Select local agent/factory inspection partner for each new sourcing location. Schedule and manage 3rd party inspections, including in-line and final random inspections at factories.
- Review Manufacturing Agreement and recommend changes to Merchandising and Supply Chain leadership.
- Enforce vendor compliance policies, processing vendor chargebacks as needed.
Product Testing / Product Quality Standards
- Own QA metrics on all product lines, publish a product testing protocol manual and monitor testing compliance for all new products
- Establish a 3rd party testing program to ensure that all product categories meet the latest Federal, State and International regulations as well as meet Tecovas performance expectations.
- Review, analyze, communicate, and make recommendations based on 3rd party test results to both the Merchandise and Supply Chain teams (internal) as well as vendors (external).
- Foresee and communicate potential product quality concerns for new product development, especially for new category launches. Act as a stakeholder on New Product Development (NPD) programs.
- Establish inspection protocols and quality checklists. Hire, train and manage hourly associate(s) to perform these audits and record their results.
- Perform administrative activities associated with the effective management of operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving production data for reports.
Strategy
- Manage the Tecovas Warranty program and partner with Operations team to establish a refurbishment program for customer returns
- Improve new Supplier Onboarding. Identify improvement opportunities, quantify the benefit, marshal resources, and drive projects to completion.
- Anticipate bottlenecks, provide management escalation, evaluate risks and costs, gain leadership alignment and execute.
- Own implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives as needed.
Experience we’re looking for:
The ideal Manager of Quality, Compliance, and ESG has prior experience in quality system management for internationally sourced consumer products. Specific desired qualifications include:
