Job Description
Studs is an experiential retail and e-commerce brand that has re-imagined the ear piercing experience. Studs’ mission is to empower bold self-expression and inclusive community through earscaping with safe and healthy ear piercings and the best curated destination of earrings.
Based in New Orleans, the Lead Key Holder will be at the ground level of building and developing the most unique ear piercing and shopping experience in the Magazine Street location! You are the ultimate ambassador of our brand; and in a unique position to bridge the gap for piercers and front of house team members.Â
Salary: $60,500 annualizedÂ
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & People Management
- Lead by example. Maintain an active sales floor presence, support and coach team members in delivering a positive customer-centric environment
- Assist in recruiting, onboarding and training of all store employeesÂ
- Collaborate on new training initiatives needed to grow the business
- Assume all Store Manager responsibilities in their absence. Â

OperationsÂ
- Support store schedule creation and ensure the integrity of time and attendance
- Ensure operational excellence in policies and procedures; partner with Store Manager and HQ to develop and train on new processesÂ
- Support inventory management such as receiving, transferring orders, cycle counts, and back of house organization
- Ensure safety procedures and measures are in place, according to local laws and company policy
Sales
- Serve as a brand ambassador: educate and delight our customers with the magic of Studs. Deliver an incredible experience that continues beyond the store visit.Â
- Grow and develop our customer base through one-on-one interactions in store and during special events, with a focus on exceptional service.Â
- Assist monitoring, tracking and communicating trends and opportunities of key business metrics.Â
Visual/Merchandising
- Ensure the visual presentation of the store is inspiring and clean
- Assist in the development and implementation of merchandising directives and tests.Â
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of retail experience, ideally in a supervisory role
- 40 hours per week; you must be available for five shifts per week including all weekend days
- Must be able to stand for 8+ hour shifts
- Must be able to lift 20 lbs boxes
- Must be able to handle chemicals safely
- A passion for delivering outstanding customer experience
- Excellent communication skills with a knack for relationship building
