About This Job
The main purpose of this job is to provide relationship management for institutional clients; which includes nonprofit entities, Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Taft Hartley and/or other areas of our institutional client segments, and retain and grow existing clients, as well as seeking out new client relationships.
Essential Functions
- Serve as subject matter expert for nonprofit, Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Taft Hartley
- Research information and industry to maintain a current working knowledge of issues and products/services impacting this customer segment
- Publish articles and refine marketing materials to promote thought leadership within the institutional segment and establish rapport with client base and proactively call on and respond to client requests
- Understand and comply with all operational and compliance guidelines and policies while managing client relationships
- Attend client events and formulate strategies to entertain and engage clients, board members and other client review meetings
- Enhance the client experience by being accessible and knowledgeable of capabilities and how best to address their situation
- Coordinate with other areas of Trust and the Bank in facilitating the resolution of client service or deliverables issues
- Achieve annual sales and client revenue goals through both retention and growth of existing client base and by seeking out business from new clients by developing partnerships throughout Commerce Bank and Commerce Trust Company to provide qualified referrals
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge Skills & Abilities Required
- Strong knowledge of the institutional segment, including nonprofit sector, corporate entities, ERISA, Taft Hartley, along with each segment's industry best practices
- Strong relationship building skills
- Ability to learn Commerce products and identify cross selling opportunities as appropriate
- Strong strategic, analytical and problem solving skills
- Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Works well in relationship team environment, both within Commerce Trust and with external partners.
- Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
- Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Master's degree or advanced Legal degree preferred
- 5+ years industry investment and/or relationship management experience required
