Canopy is a SaaS startup in Draper, Utah building simple, efficient software for accounting firms. We are hiring a Sr. Mobile User Experience Designer to join our product team. Designers serve a huge role here at Canopy; from designing impactful experiences for our customers to serving the rest of the organization in helping create better overall customer experiences. Our User Experience designers at Canopy are empowered to research, prioritize, prototype, and test product experiences from the embedded post of a product development team, this ensures that we are building a product that adds value and usefulness to our existing and new customers. The User Experience design team at Canopy is not only responsible for creating these great experiences but also for fostering a culture of structured design throughout the company to empower others to be user-driven.

This position is a hybrid role in Draper, UT.

What you’ll do

• Embed cross-functionally with product management and engineering to represent the design team, facilitate user-driven discussions, make decisions and provide feedback in product planning and execution.
• Collaborate closely with design and product leadership to define your features and contribute to the overall direction of your product area.
• Set up, lead, and execute customer research and stakeholder interviews with your product manager.
• Design user narratives, flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals and assets.
• Construct prototypes that accurately portray the designed user interactions.
• Prepare all assets for engineering handoff to clearly illustrate what needs to be built.
• Work closely with engineering to ensure the highest quality implementation of the designs and objectives and own every aspect of the design.
• Collaborate often with other user experience designers to ensure that the overall product experience is cohesive and valuable.
• Construct user interfaces within a design system and component library.
• Mentor and coach other designers helping to level up the skill set across the entire team.
• Solicit feedback from... Well, everyone. This includes other product designers, subject matter experts, engineers, product managers, sales, customer support, and marketing to create a seamless overall user experience.

What you'll need

• College degree, Bootcamp, or equivalent education/experience with 5+ years of experience in Product Design, UX Design, Interaction Design, or Graphic Design.
• Experience designing digital products and systems, not just websites. Must have experience designing experiences for mobile, tablet, and desktop.
• Designed and shipped products across iOS and Android leveraging platform best practices and native patterns.
• Worked with design systems to create consistently high-quality experiences.
• Resume and portfolio showcasing your experience and design process; problem-solving, decision-making, iterating, ideating, and overall visual design. 
• Adequate knowledge of current design tools and the ability to learn new tools quickly.
• Ability to partner directly with product managers and engineers to discover user needs, design solutions, and test your assumptions prior to building.
• An understanding of the purpose of prototyping as a means to explore and validate design concepts and solutions.
• The desire to regularly collaborate often with other designers; share, learn, and mentor.
