We are currently seeking aSenior Tax Accountantwith strong expertise in U.S. tax compliance, bookkeeping, and accounting processes. This position requires at least 5 years of experience working in a professional accounting environment, with specific exposure to international reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will play an integral role in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, and supporting both tax preparation and accounting services.

Senior Tax Accountant Key Responsibilities:
β’ Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including data entry, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and account analysis usingQuickBooks Online and Desktop.
β’ Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, prepaids, fixed assets, and accrual adjustments in accordance with GAAP.
β’ Prepare and perform reviews of U.S. federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships, including complex international reporting forms (e.g., 1040NR, 1120F, 5471, 5472, 8938, FBAR, 1042, 1116, 2555).
β’ Conduct intermediate to advanced tax research on international, corporate, and individual tax matters; present findings to clients, managers, and partners in a clear, actionable format.
β’ Collaborate with managers and partners to implement strategic tax planning for both domestic and international clients.
β’ Support payroll setup, processing, and compliance using third-party payroll service providers such as ADP, Gusto, and Intuit Payroll.
β’ Prepare responses to IRS and state tax notices, coordinate with tax authorities, and manage issue resolution regarding penalties and compliance matters.
β’ Manage monthly bookkeeping schedules and annual tax return preparation timelines to ensure efficient service delivery and compliance with filing deadlines.
β’ Identify and implement process improvements that enhance service quality, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
β’ Maintain effective communications, fostering trust and ensuring timely responses to questions regarding tax, bookkeeping, and accounting matters.
Senior Tax Accountant Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs Degree in Accounting required; CPA or EA preferred.
β’ Minimum of3-5 years of experiencein a professional accounting firm, working with a diverse range of clients, including preparation of U.S. tax returns and bookkeeping services.
β’ Strong technical knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and international tax compliance, with specific experience in cross-border transactions and foreign ownership reporting.
β’ Proficient withQuickBooks Online and Desktop; experience with ATX, CCH, or similar tax software is preferred.
β’ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex tax and accounting concepts clearly and professionally.
β’ Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities, with exceptional attention to detail.
β’ Proven ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently.
β’ Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and learning in tax law, accounting standards, and compliance.
β’ Current IRS PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number) required.
β’ Enrolled Agent or CPA License
β’ Italian or Spanish Language a Plus
Senior Tax Accountant Preferred Attributes:
β’ Experience supporting international families, foreign-owned U.S. entities, and nonresident taxpayers.
β’ Familiarity with international tax treaties, withholding obligations, and foreign tax credit calculations.
β’ Self-starter with a growth mindset and a client-focused approach to service delivery.

The salary range for this position is: $78,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications. The Senior Staff Accountant may be eligible for performance based bonuses and continuing education/professional development support.
