Risk Management is at the core of Payments done well. Our focus is to ensure the integrity of our marketplace for sellers and buyers, and that of millions of daily transactions. The scope of this position is leading our financial risk policy management and people in the Emerging Seller Risk team. We are part of Risk & Protections organization.

We are search for a Risk Management leader to facilitate cross-functional work to drive improvements in the customer journey while controlling for users with fraudulent intent. With a combination of intense curiosity and a passion for continuous improvement, you will systematically redefine how we balance and govern risk management with the emerging customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Seller Risk Policy Managers and Specialists.
• Develop the core strategy, framework, and policies for our financial risk policies (payout blocks, account/transaction level holds, release, funding instruments+).
• Monitor the performance of financial risk strategies and proactively seek out opportunities for improvement in policy, operations, and outputs.
• Manage the impact of our policies on our customers and teammates, ensuring both are set up for success while we meet our financial commitments.
• Build relationships with partners in the regional businesses, product owners, engineering, incident management and risk operations organizations to set shared goals, influence the prioritization and facilitate the implementation of risk strategies.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team with examples of planning, prioritizing, mentoring, and growing individuals.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills such as SQL/SAS are required.
• Proficiency in Python desired. Experience with machine learning frameworks and models a plus.
• Deep understanding of ecommerce/digital risk management in at least one area: user verification, account takeover behavior, fraud strategies, access/standards programs etc.
• You are an expert in policy documentation and optimization, with strong knowledge of industry benchmarks and standard methodologies.
• Ability to define a problem out of ambiguity and reconcile conflicting goals across multiple functions.
• Experience in account and portfolio risk strategy development. You are willing to become familiar with industry benchmarks, technologies and standard methodologies.
• Communicate ideas succinctly and accurately; tailor your communication to a broad range of audiences; active listening and good presentation skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed.
