Job Summary
We are a rapidly growingCPA firmexpanding our footprint with a new location inSugar Land, TX, and we’re looking for a dedicated and detail-orientedStaff Accountantto join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP and public accounting principles, along with the ability to manage multiple accounting functions in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and review accurate financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP and firm standards.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly closings for multiple clients.
• Support tax preparation, audits, and client advisory services as needed.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis to provide actionable insights to clients.
• Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, including SOX and IRS reporting standards.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other cloud-based platforms to streamline client accounting operations.
• Mentor and assist junior staff, promoting best practices in public accounting and client service.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for clients; prepare reports and presentations for management and partners.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, accrual accounting, and public accounting processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with professional accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar).
• Prior experience in a CPA firm or client service–oriented accounting environment is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge ofLIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit)or governmental accounting is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective client and team collaboration.
• Experience in payroll processing is beneficial.

Pay: $61,695.80 - $74,300.32 per year
