As the Manager, Technology, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and support of our financial systems ecosystem, as well as leading the day-to-day activities of a complex and talented group of professionals. What you'll do on a typical day:
- Oversee operational support, including assigning tasks, planning, and status reporting
- Handle department infrastructure, including the release process, department policies and strategies, and staff resource allocation and planning
- Monitor and contribute to the organization's competitive edge by developing and executing best-in-class strategies
- Build and maintain relationships with IT team partners; could include travel to customer operational locations
- Meet frequently with project managers, senior managers and business managers to review strategies, tactics and results
- Provide regular status updates to management, anticipating risks and working with cross-functional teams to determine mitigation plans
- Participate in the development of IT strategies and initiatives that support client objectives
- Handle all supervisory responsibilities for staff, including conducting performance reviews, managing employee development, hiring/recommending terminations, and coaching and counseling
- Ensure a positive work environment, communicate company goals and objectives, and ensure compliance to all applicable employment policies
What you need to succeed at XPO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
- 5 years of industry experience with 3 years of managing professional staff
- Cross-functional business management experience, including logistics and/or supply chain management, IT solutions development, technical project management, business analysis, accounting, and budgeting, and managing customer relationships
- Systems knowledge, including Oracle Financials, SQL, SQL queries, HTML, FTP, XML, ERP, Windows, JAVA, Oracle SOA Middleware, and Microsoft Office applications
It'd be great if you also have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, MIS or a technical area, or equivalent related work or military experience
- Working knowledge of Service Now and ITIL Concepts
- Ability to bring resolution to highly complex and stressful situations with multiple constituents, e.g., IT, operations, engineering, customers
- A familiarity with release processes; working knowledge of project management methodologies
It'd be great if you also have:
- Solid troubleshooting, time management and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work with nontechnical end users to explain technical concepts
- Understanding of financial accounting and basic human resources concepts
