Technical Support Engineer

Summary:

The Technical Support Engineer (TSE) works closely with the sales team and customers in relation to technical matters. This position must also communicate with the engineering department. Understanding the drilling process, the loads applied to drill strings and the tools that interface with the drill string is required.

Qualifications:

• Four (4) year Engineering degree required
• 5 - 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry,
• Previous experience to rotary shoulder connection or drilling tubular preferred

Duties:

• Interact with operators' drilling engineers on drill string design question in relation with sales management
• Present technologies and drill string design seminar
• Support dedicated sales persons on a regional or account basis
• Work on a revenue generating lead like operator project, newbuilt, high end item for rental Co
• Write publications
• Write technical bulletin on specific topics when required
• Create customer engineered product designs and coordinate with PLM/engineering
• Be capable of realizing T&D and hydraulics analysis for operators
• Support inside sales at quote/order entry level (review of complex quotes for soundness, issuance of performance sheet)
• Support clients more complex technical demands without supervision
• Complete booth duty at trade shows and showcases
• May be required to supervise and coach a junior engineer
• May be required to give plant tours whenever needed
• Be engaged with industry association (attend SPE/IADC/NACE luncheons, workshops, and be involved on technical committees)
