UX Designer

A UX designer must be able to translate business requirements into actionable experience designs that impact the user experience and interactions with our products.  The UX Designer will lead activities centered around gathering user data, brainstorming and formulating design ideas, executing on designs, validating results, and measuring success.  The UX Designer will interact with both internal and external stakeholders to formulate product direction that leads to improving overall user experience. 

Key Activities: 

• Own design efforts for key business initiatives.
• Engage clients through interviews in efforts to collect data that will lead to improvements in user experience.
• Create design artifacts that adhere to design best practices and established WellSky design principles. 
• Collaborate with teammates in efforts to solve complex design problems as well as validate and measure success.
• Be the voice of the user.
• Contribute to workshops with the goal of educating and transforming the culture towards user-centered design and development.
• Support design validation efforts.
• Establish best practices that lead to improving the end-user’s interactions with our solutions.
• Practice Human-Centered Design methodologies.

Job Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• Preferred majors are Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems/Decision Sciences, Mathematics, Sciences, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Psychology, Human Computer Interaction.

You have expertise in one of the following skills, are strong in two more and capable in 2 others: 

• Front-end Development
• Quantitative Research and Analysis
• Prototyping
• Visual Design
• Content Strategy
• Information Architecture
• Interaction Design
• User Research and Synthesis

Preferred Requirements: 

• 2-3 Years in Engineering or User Experience Design
• Portfolio of sample projects highlighting design for web-based applications, mobile applications and consumer facing web sites and/or applications, including write-ups detailing process and approach.
• Proven experience showing clear understanding of the intersection between user needs, technology requirements, and business goals.
• Excellent organizational, time, and project management skills.
• An understanding of the latest design and technology trends and their role in a health care environment.
