What We Need

We are looking for a Web Architect to join the 2K Engineer team building sites and applications in support of our game titles. You will be part of a cross-functional and nimble team within 2K Marketing Technology department.  This team is responsible for creating the necessary tools for our content authors to execute upon the vision created by our product apparatus.

The Web Architect will work with the business to understand the needs and objectives, propose solutions, create estimations and be willing to challenge existing solutions with the view of scaling the business.  As the Web Architect you must be adept at both front-end and back-end coding languages, development frameworks, third-party libraries, and modern web infrastructure.  The Web Architect will investigate new technologies, provide benefit analysis, devise implementation plans, and delegate responsibilities to team members. The Web Architect will be a key member is advising the senior leadership on the technical direction the web team should take.

What You Will Do

• Determine how technologies can be applied to meet business needs
• Articulate strategy, implementation plans, and timeframe of proposed solutions
• Ensure software maintainability, scalability, and modularity
• Ability to work through solutions autonomously
• Ability to recognize and delegate tasks to team members
• Communicate status reports to management on technical objectives
• Collaborate with developers to define best practices and coding standards
• Prioritize tasks based on business or team needs
• Create documentation around key aspects of software workflow pipelines
• Provide guidance and mentorship to developers
• Participate in code reviews.
• Write technical documentation that facilitates team comprehension.
• Have informed decisions on why technologies are, are not the right choice for the team / solutions we’re delivering to the business.

What Will Make You a Great Fit

• 7+ years in Vue, React, Angular or related frameworks
• 7+ years in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript
• 5+ years with Node.JS or other backend technologies
• Expertise building and releasing high-traffic, scalable web applications
• Expertise with AWS products like SQS, SNS, S3 and others
• Expertise with Serverless application development
• Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Bonus Points

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science (or a related field) or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with JS bundlers (Webpack/ES Build)
• Experience with GraphQL.
• Experience with a Headless CMS (Cockpit, Contentful, Strapi, etc)
• Experience working within Agile, Scrum, or Kanban
