Skills & Requirements Responsibilities: Research and identify new funding opportunities from foundations, corporate, government and individual sources Prepare and coordinate all grant proposals in order to meet or exceed grant budget expectations Engage in grant writing; research, coordinate, prepare, and submit grant/appreciation proposals according to grant guidelines Develop a schedule for tracking applicable grants, submission, status, award, and reports required for grants received Administer all grants received in order to meet requirements of the grant restrictions and/or requirements in collaboration with the Finance Department for reporting Requirements 4 year degree Technical communications knowledge is helpful Sense of humor At least 5 years expirience Other related duties as assigned. He/she reads and reviews the complete RFP, especially all required forms, relaying any questions to the proposal team and/or budget director; acts as a repository of proposal elements, edits and updates existing boilerplate language as needed to reflect program changes or changes in RFP requirements; completes review of proposal drafts and submits them to the team before the stated deadline so that time is allotted for final edits. The Grant Writer develops proposals according to funding source specifications as outlined in the RFP and within the timeframes allowed. The position consults with the appropriate staff to generate proposals and supporting documents that produce revenue for programs and services through the timely submission of well-researched, well written and well-documented proposals. He/she gathers information that allows him/her to grasp the concept of the project/program for which funding is sought and uses current, accurate data in the preparation of responses.
