Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Daily Grind at the Rocker Enlisted Club on Kadena Air Base, Okinawa. Duties The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of manual duties in a coffee shop environment, including preparing and serving beverages, operating specialized equipment, and maintaining a clean and orderly workspace. Sets up the coffee station for service, ensuring an adequate supply of cups, lids, sleeves, napkins, condiments, and pastry items. Operates, breaks down, and cleans specialized coffee-making equipment, including espresso machines, coffee grinders, and blenders. Cleans service and customer areas, such as worktables, counters, and seating areas. Separates food waste and trash. Loads and operates dishwashers, and stores clean dishes, glasses, and utensils. Washes tables and counters, sweeps and mops floors, and cleans and sanitizes trashcans. Prepares ingredients for beverage production, such as brewing coffee and tea, and portioning items for blended drinks. Greets customers, takes food and beverage orders, and receives payment. Prepares a full range of hot and cold beverages, such as lattes, cappuccinos, and smoothies, according to standard recipes. Performs other related duties as assigned. Ability to use hand tools for cleaning and operating simple machines. Ability to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds, and occasionally over 20 pounds with assistance. Ability to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push and bend for long periods of time. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
