The Basics:
The Associate Technical Writer works closely with Tanium customers to develop technical documentation to accompany our platform and products. You will be responsible for developing consumable, accurate and timely documentation, from which Tanium's prospects, customers, and partners derive real value.
What You’ll Do:
Work closely with our customers to:
- Plan and write security software guides, knowledge articles, as well as other documentation
- Gather data through research, reports, dashboards, and technical interviews
- Create basic flow diagrams
- Produce electronic documentation in addition to hard copy manuals in accordance with project scope
- Manage updates and revisions to technical literature
- Review technical material for consistency and accuracy
- Collaborate with technical contributors to ensure complex topics are addressed
- Ensure assigned projects and tasks remain on schedule
We’re Looking For:
- Education
- BA/BS or equivalent experience desired from the following:
- Journalism / English / Communications / Computer science / Engineering
- BA/BS or equivalent experience desired from the following:
- Experience
- 2-7 years experience writing or editing content for a variety of audiences
- Documenting for operating system environment
- Working with users to document processes and procedures
- Familiarity with XML and HTML
- Familiarity topic-based/structured authoring, and single-sourcing preferred
- Demonstrate clear, concise, and precise documentation of technical subject matter and procedures
- Demonstrate strong verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and strong command of English language
- Skilled at prioritization and multitasking
- Familiarity with security software/products
- Able to meet deadlines
- Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences
- Able to work independently or as part of a team

What you’ll get
The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $50,000 to $155,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.
