Corporate Finance & Strategy Intern

The Basics:  

Tanium is looking for a curious, driven, and hardworking individual to join its corporate finance and strategy team as a 2023 Summer Intern. This role will interact with various teams and levels of management, and the right candidate must have the ability to communicate with multiple levels globally across Technical Customer Support, Finance, Marketing, and Sales divisions.  

This person must be an analytical and critical thinker, a problem solver, a curious deep diver, and a clear communicator. This individual must be able to roll-up their sleeves, and work directly with the business and finance models /data, while also keeping the bigger picture in mind when sharing any findings or narratives with the rest of the business. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, independent, confident speaking to a group, and naturally inquisitive. This person will also maintain strategic alignment with our Technical Customer Support, Sales, and Marketing teams, provide value-add business insights and organizational support, and enhance and maintain finance and business models that drive growth and strategy.  

The position can be located anywhere in the continental United States.  

What you’ll do:  

• Join a high-performing, geographically dispersed team to enable critical insight and operational excellence across Technical Customer Support, Marketing, and Sales teams  
• Own analysis and financial/business models focused on internal segments, customers, and business strategies
• Run data analysis, streamline processes, and drive improvements across financial/business models
• Assist on internal and external reporting and dashboards for leadership
• Business partnering with global business units 

We’re looking for someone who is:  

• Authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future 
• Available to work full-time from June 12, 2023 to August 18, 2023
• Bachelor’s Degree candidate, majoring in business or a related field (e.g. Business Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Communications)
• Graduating Spring 2024 or Fall 2023
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint
• Strong in written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to executives and large groups  

Other helpful qualifications:  

• Experience with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) 
• Familiarity with Excel and modelling skills for ad hoc requests, pro-formas, business strategy, and streamlining data / excel models 
• Strong ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines 
• Experience working within a high-growth, technology company helpful but not required
• Ability to effectively interact and build relationships with senior management and global stakeholders 

All our interns are paid an hourly wage to work full-time as well as a housing stipend for the duration of our internship.
