Team: Finance

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director of Finance in the United States.

This senior finance leadership role serves as the organization’s primary financial steward, combining strategic oversight with hands-on operational responsibility. You will own core accounting, reporting, and financial control functions while acting as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team. Operating in a fast-growing SaaS environment, you will help shape scalable financial systems and processes that support long-term growth. The role blends Controller-level execution with forward-looking financial leadership and strategic planning. You will oversee a small external support team while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence. This position also offers a clear progression path toward a future CFO role as the company scales.

Accountabilities:

You will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls, and actionable insights that support business growth.

  • Own the general ledger, month-end close process, and preparation of financial statements
  • Oversee bookkeeping support including AP, AR, payroll coordination, and reconciliations
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
  • Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls aligned with best practices
  • Coordinate with external accountants for tax filings, audits, and regulatory compliance
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
  • Analyze financial performance and provide insights and recommendations to executive leadership
  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and working capital optimization
  • Support strategic initiatives as a financial partner to the CEO
  • Improve financial systems, processes, and tools to support scalability and efficiency
  • Requirements:

You bring deep hands-on accounting expertise combined with strong financial leadership experience in fast-paced or scaling environments.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
    • 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including senior-level responsibilities
    • Strong background in hands-on accounting, reporting, and financial operations
    • Experience in small to mid-sized or high-growth organizations
    • Proven ability to build budgets, forecasts, and financial models
    • Experience with SaaS metrics such as MRR and ARR and revenue recognition concepts (ASC 606 / IFRS 15)
    • Familiarity with tools such as QuickBooks and other financial or operational systems
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
    • Ability to operate independently while partnering closely with executive leadership
    • CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred; additional industry experience (e.g., energy or wholesale settlements) is a plus
    • Benefits:

      • Competitive base salary ranging from 120,000 to 160,000 USD, depending on experience
      • Bonus eligibility, equity participation, and additional performance-based incentives
      • Remote-first role open to candidates across the United States
      • Opportunity to grow into a future CFO-level leadership position
      • Exposure to strategic decision-making in a scaling SaaS organization
      • Collaborative environment with executive-level visibility and impact
      • Health, financial, and wellness benefits (details provided during hiring process)
      • Work within a mission-driven organization focused on sustainability and clean energy innovation
