This role sits within a fast-paced, innovative healthcare and biotechnology environment where legal precision directly supports the advancement of cutting-edge diagnostic and research initiatives. You will take ownership of complex healthcare and research-related contracting activities, ensuring legal accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency across multiple stakeholders. The position plays a critical role in enabling clinical studies, research collaborations, and data-driven healthcare programs.
You will operate as a key legal partner to internal teams, helping translate business and scientific needs into robust contractual frameworks.
The role requires strong autonomy, sound judgment, and the ability to manage a high-volume workflow in a dynamic setting.
You will also contribute to process improvements, contract lifecycle optimization, and the development of standardized legal tools.

Accountabilities:

  • Independently draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of healthcare and research-related contracts, including clinical study agreements, investigator-initiated trial agreements, research collaboration agreements, material transfer agreements, and data use agreements under attorney supervision.
  • Review and provide legal input on clinical study documents, including consent forms and study protocols, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Manage a high-volume workload by prioritizing requests, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and ensuring timely delivery of legal support.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and cross-functional teams to design and improve contracting workflows, templates, intake processes, and tracking systems.
  • Support the ongoing development and refinement of contract negotiation playbooks and standardized legal guidance.
  • Liaise with internal business partners to provide clear, practical, and timely legal responses to contract-related inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, training requirements, and healthcare privacy and security standards, including HIPAA-related obligations.
  • Requirements:

    • 5+ years of paralegal experience focused on commercial research contracts and corporate legal work, including at least 3+ years in a law firm environment; in-house experience is a strong plus.
    • Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing complex commercial and research-related agreements.
    • Background in biotechnology, life sciences, diagnostics, or healthcare industries is highly preferred.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify legal risks and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and organizational ability.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with strong autonomy and initiative.
    • High level of business acumen, professionalism, and ethical judgment.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general legal or contract management tools.
